The phenomenon of bulky waste is well known in many places. It usually starts small, e.g. a chair is placed in front of the door and then other things join it, lamps, toys, mattresses, shelves ... a pile of bulky waste is constantly changing shape. This results in sculptural ensembles of aesthetic value, which of course remain ephemeral. “reality bites” is a photographic-experimental investigation of bulky waste in Jungbusch. The immersive installation is also an invitation to reflect on the perception of anger and beauty in the face of these bizarre phenomena.
